  5. Added rotate image.

CHANGES:

Version v1.1

Release date: Mar 29, 2005

Download this version here.

NEW FEATURES:

  1. “Save Album To Disk” can now create albums with local links, allowing albums to be viewed locally before uploading to your website.

  2. Added “Save All Albums To Disk” menu item to the Albums menu, so that all the albums in a gallery can be saved at once. If local links are used, this makes it possible to view a complete gallery locally before uploading to your website.

  3. Added a “Check All Workspaces” menu item to the File menu. This checks that the “uniqueId” bug described below is not present in any of your workspaces. It also looks for Web Photos Pro image folders that are not being used and that can be deleted to free up space on your computer.

  4. Photo dates are now transferred from iPhoto to Web Photos Pro.

CHANGES:

  1. If in iPhoto you have added the “checkmark” keyword, this is stored by iPhoto as the keyword “_Favorite_". This is now transferred to Web Photos Pro as “Favorite".

  2. When saving albums to disk (using “Save Album To Disk” or “Save All Albums To Disk"), .html files are saved with a default application that is your default browser (Safari, Firefox, etc.). .xml files continue to have BBEdit as their default application.

BUG FIXES:

  1. If multiple albums were added at the same time (e.g. you added all of your iPhoto albums at the same time), it was possible that two or more albums would receive the same “uniqueId", a value which is used for various internal calculations, including the location of the thumbnails and resized images. Code was added to check for this problem at startup, and whenever a workspace is opened. If you receive a dialog telling you that you have this problem, email support@webphotospro.com and we will help you fix the problem.

This problem is not dangerous (i.e. none of your photos are affected), but it is serious enough that it should be fixed before continuing to work on albums in the affected workspace.

Release Notes: Web Photos Pro 1.0.1
March 23, 2005

Version v1.0.1

Release date: Mar 23, 2005

Download this version here.

NEW FEATURES:

  1. Added support for iPhoto 5, including iPhoto 5 Smart Albums, Slideshows, and Books.

    And the online documentation at
    http://www.webphotospro.com/articles/working-with-iphoto/
has been updated to reflect the new iPhoto-related features available in this version.

CHANGES:

  1. Web Photos Pro iPhoto albums are no longer stored inside the iPhoto Library folder, they are now stored inside
    /Application Support/WebPhotosPro/iPhotoAlbums/

  2. When uploading to a Web Photos Pro Server Edition installation, the index file was hard-coded as “default.php". This is now user settable. You can specify an “Index File” in the “Web Server” portion of the Photo Galleries preference panel.

  3. Support for multi-word tags. If the tags field contain a comma (,), then the tags are treated as multi-word tags with a comma separator. If there is no comma in the tags field, the tags are treated as single word tags with a space separator. For example “san francisco golden gate bridge” is five tags, where “san francisco, golden gate bridge” is two tags. Similarly, “san francisco” is two tags, and “san francisco,” is one tag.

  4. Added support for paging gallery, album and search results pages via a popup menu on the HTML-Gallery and HTML-Album preference panels.
(Web Photos Pro Server Edition only, requires version 1.0b5 or later)

  5. Added support for displaying the “latest photos” album via a checkbox on the HTML-Gallery preferences panel labeled “Create Latest Photos album automatically for this gallery".
(Web Photos Pro Server Edition only, requires version 1.0b5 or later)

  6. New preference on PhotoRSS panel, that allows you to specify whether you want the “Show Urls” link displayed on gallery, album, image, and search results pages.
(Web Photos Pro Server Edition only, requires version 1.0b5 or later)

  7. Added a “Minimize the number of confirmation dialogs” checkbox to the General preferences panel. Checking this reduces the number of confirmation dialogs you receive when uploading albums, or quitting the Web Photos Pro application.

BUG FIXES:

  1. Fixed a bug when the “Attribution-NonCommercial” and “Attribution-ShareAlike” Creative Commons licenses were selected.

  2. Fixed a bug when changing FTP settings, and you switched to the List of Albums window without clicking the “Save” button first (the settings weren’t saved properly). Also, when you click “Test Connection” any changes you’ve made are saved before the ftp test is performed rather than after it.

  3. Fixed a bug where if you were dragging a photo in a photo album to reorder it, and dropped the photo into a text field (e.g. the title or tags), random text would be added to the field.

Release Notes: Web Photos Pro 1.0.0
February 7, 2005

Version v1.0.0

Release date: Feb 4, 2005

NEW FEATURES:

  1. Added a custom image size (in addition to the custom thumbnail size). See the new checkbox “Custom” under “Images” on the Images Preferences panel.

  2. You can now have Web Photos Pro add “rel=[tagname]” to your tag links. See the new option “Link tags with “rel=[tagname]"” on the HTML/Image Preferences panel. More info on these tags can be found at http://www.technorati.com/tags/

  3. You can now have Web Photos Pro add a Creative Commons licenses to your photos. See the new checkbox “Add A Creative Commons License” on the HTML/Skin Preferences panel. More info on Creative Commons licenses at http://www.creativecommons.org/

CHANGES:

  1. Changed RSS xmlns definitions, and photo-specific RSS output.

  2. Changed PhotoRSS format, and updated version to 0.2

  3. Added new items to the Help menu.

  4. On Windows XP/2000, moved WebPhotosPro and WebPhotosPro_Images folders from ~user/My Documents/ to ~user/Local Settings/Application Data/

  5. Changed all references from “Web Gallery” to “Photo Gallery". Why? I had a mantra when I was at Apple, “if you can’t explain it to your mother over the phone, then it’s too hard". And each time I used the term “web gallery” I had to explain what it meant, and so it became obvious that it needed to be changed. “Photo gallery” seems like a good, and understandable, substitute. (Note: the online documentation has not yet been updated to use “Photo Gallery", but will be in the next couple of weeks.)

BUG FIXES:

  1. Custom thumbnail size now works.

  2. During testing a bug was found when creating thumbnails and resized images with progressive JPEGs. Therefore, we currently ignore JPEGs that have been saved in a progressive format.

NOTES:

  1. The beta release notes are available for viewing online at http://www.webphotospro.com/downloads/WPP_1.0_Beta_Release_Notes.txt
