Web Photos Pro v1.2 and Web Photos Pro Server Edition v1.1 are both ready for download.
These two releases are the culmination of a series of small releases that I’ve made to a number of beta customers over the past couple of months. Their feedback has been invaluable, and I thank them for that. Here are the highlights:
Web Photos Pro
This release has a lot of under the hood fixes, as well as three new features:
- Image rotate: in the photo album view, select a photo, then choose “Rotate 90° right” or “Rotate 90° left” from the Image menu (or right-click and choose from the popup menu)
- Upload to Live Journal Scrapbook
- Upload to Club Photo
These last two features – the ability to upload to other services – is something we’re doing to give Web Photos Pro additional reach. The Club Photo upload feature is something that I’ve been using quite a bit lately, especially now with their 12¢ for a 4x6 sale!
Web Photos Pro Server Edition
This is a bug fix release, along with a significant upgrade to the Wordpress plug-in. On the bug fix side, the “Latest Photos” album should work more consistently. On the Wordpress plug-in upgrade side, we’ve added three new tags.
The first of the new tags is the <wpp> tag. For example, <wpp:IMG_1001.JPG> will display the image “IMG_1001.JPG". Notice that unlike the <wpp_image>, tag, you don’t need to specify the gallery or album – the <wpp> tag searches across all galleries and albums automatically.
The other two tags are still “in progress", and as such should be tested before using them. The <wpp_gallery> and <wpp_album> tags let you display a gallery or album right inside your blog. For example, create a blog entry, add the <wpp_gallery> tag as the only text in the blog entry. When you go to that blog entry, you will see the gallery page displayed inside your blog.
The output of these two tags isn’t very customizable yet, but we will be doing something interesting in that area in a future release.
Until then, if you have any questions of comments, please don’t hesitate to ask.
With kindest regards,
– Frank Leahy
as the forum doesn’t work since a long time and there is no email address under the support section, here a bug report : changed DATE in iPhoto but WP does not read it and I have to manually again change it in WP.
